One vs The Other

From Blogizdat LJ:

I have a twin set of impulses:

1) to write publicly, here on this blog, for example, posting a variety of relatively innocuous things that will offend and disturb only the most sensitive souls, allowing readers to enjoy and comment, as they wish.

2) to write privately, in my journals, where I engage in some kind of written primal scream therapy, where I let everything out, no holds barred, utterly ruthless on myself and others and the world at large, mostly written when I'm enraged or depressed or blissfully happy.

And see, there are times when I think I'm almost capable of turning a phrase worth reading, that I can write passably well, but honestly, the stuff I write publicly doesn't really hold a candle to what I write for Eyes-Only, in my never-to-be-humble-opinion.

Today's Rondomnimity

From Blogizdat LJ:

*) It was Pearl Harbor Day today, a day that will live in infamy, as FDR said it would.

*) I'm liking my new Nook Color, but I'm still looking forward to getting my iPad at the end of the month - thing is, the Nook is only seven inches diagonally, and the iPad is nearly ten inches, and yes, I know, size isn't everything, I'm told, though what do they know? - but that extra real estate comes in handy when reading a magazine or larger PDF file. Funny, but neither the Nook nor the iPad runs flash - meh.
