You Say Good Buy

I stopped in to Half-Price Books this past weekend and found Goldmine's The Beatles Digest for two bucks in the clearance section. It is a collection of all the articles that were run about The Beatles in Goldmine, the venerable record collector's bible, up to the date of publication of the Digest, in 2000. It's a treasure-trove of data on the Fab Four and all things Beatles. If you are a fan of the band, and can find a copy of the book, get it. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Thanks for the tip...

I got my husband a Beatles CD for Valentine’s Day. We took a little trip in the car this past weekend to visit the in-laws and my 4-year-old was requesting songs. His new favorite is “Hey Jude.” The problem is... he keeps singing either “Hey Dude” or “Hey Jew.” You gotta laugh! --mk

Hey, --mk, long time no hear. Well, a while, anyway. Welcome back.

Yeah, the book is amazing, everything a true collector would want to read.

As for the small-fry, I suppose his next interation is going to be 'Hey Dew...' Just tell him to leave 'Day Tripper' alone till he's a little older, eh? Heh.

(Am I right in my recollection that there are Half-Price Books Stores all over the great state of Tejas? There's only a few here, but they oh-so-cool. I might to visit my Uncle in San Antonio, just to shop for books.)

Regards.

Yeah, we’ve got Half-Price Books. Great store!! I’m going to have to go look for that book you mentioned this weekend.

San Antonio’s a great place to visit. I went there recently, but it was for my daughter’s soccer tournament, so I didn’t get to fully enjoy the atmosphere and food and Margaritas… but we did take a boat tour of the Riverwalk, and I always get a chill walking through The Alamo.

And car trips are always pretty funny with little ones. My daughters were in hysterics because their brother kept talking about the “snunk” he smelled. My poor son is going to grow up completely warped because we don’t always correct him when he comes up with new words because we love his version... :)

Regards, --mk

Isn't it funny what the small fry come up with? And isn't it fun to just let them speak that way, at least for a little while? My darling 2 year-old has for a few weeks been saying 'leechoo' instead of 'thank-you.' I gave her and her sister little stuffed pink tigers from Walmart for Valentines, to which the 'baby' said, wide-eyed and grinning: 'Leechoo tiger.' Yeah, I laughed. And now we all say it her way.

So, Leechoo. Heh.
